Then translate each NEWLINE byte in the file name to the string, "\\n", and each backslash to "\\\\". File names that don't contain NEWLINE aren't translated. (split_3): Rewrite to handle file names with embedded newlines. Miles Bader and Jim Blandy suggested this new encoding scheme. |
