maint: misc tweaks to recent changes
* doc/coreutils.texi(cut invocation): Give a more accurate description
of cut field handling limitations.
* tests/misc/stat-fmt.sh: Fix the test header to be more general.
* tests/tail-2/retry.sh: Spellings.
